The best way we know to teach our Resolute Scholars the 21st century skill of communication is to model the type of positive and helpful communication that we seek. We all benefit from clear and frequent communication--we understand each other a little more. Here are just a few of the ways you can expect to be in touch with your middle schooler’s teachers and staff at Resolute Academy:
As a parent of a Resolute Scholar, you’ll receive a weekly report that shows the status of your student’s academics and attendance. You’ll get to see positive merits your middle schooler has earned that week or if they’ve had deductions. With just a click, you can approve the weekly report in our parent portal or get in touch with a teacher or staff member, if needed. We also send a paper copy home, in case digital communication isn’t your preferred method of communication.
"All teachers are attentive and responsible with student achievement, they communicate when students are having issues.” —Resolute Academy Parent
Six Week Conferences
Nobody likes an unwanted surprise, especially when it comes to your middle schooler’s performance at school. For students in danger of not passing, we hold face-to-face conferences every 6 weeks to inform parents about student progress and make a plan. Up-front communication is our priority.
"Every teacher is wonderful. I have spoken to Mr. Banks and he is amazing. He goes out of his way to give me information about my student.” —Resolute Academy Parent
Parent Resource Page
On the top right of our website’s front page, you’ll find a PARENTS page dedicated to information for our families. Check it out for calendar updates, lunch menus, resources, workshops, and links to support you during your time at Resolute Academy.
Additionally, Parent Square is our school portal that holds information about all of our events and student records. Download the app or sign up for notifications using your cell phone or email to get information about your middle schooler quickly and efficiently.
"Teachers are in constant communication with me, the parent, and I really love that.” —Resolute Academy Parent
Parent WorkshopsResolute is proud to hold parent workshops on a variety of current and helpful topics for parents of middle schoolers. We focus on things like internet safety for your pre-teen, building resilience in challenging times, and negotiating the high school application process. You can still access some of our recorded workshops online, like this one on the Work-School-Life Balance, to watch anytime.
Monthly Coffees with the Principal
Community is the heart and soul of our school, and that means we get to know our families outside of conferences or drop-off and pick-up. Once a month, our principal, Mr. Gallegos, hosts a coffee time to chat about anything and everything. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or our blog to keep up to date on the next event.
Open Door Policy
We believe in keeping our doors, minds, and ears open for parents and students. Parents are welcome to talk to any staff member at any time, and they can easily access their student’s teacher through direct phone numbers. We know that to engage students every day, we must also be accessible and ready to listen to the needs of our dynamic middle schoolers.
“Teachers offer office hours and this helps my student with questions on assignments.” —Resolute Academy Parent
“I like when my student is asked by teachers how she's doing because the kids miss socializing. And the office hours are great.” —Resolute Academy Parent
Your trust in us is everything. We know a strong community starts with even stronger communication, which is why keeping you informed is one of our top priorities. Parents, we’ve got your back--we’re in this together.
