Executive Director's Message

Fall 2021

Dear Resolute Academy Families,

School is open and we are hard at work educating our scholars! There have been some long days for students, families, teachers, and staff as we adjust to the “new normal” of this year. But every day, when I see our scholars smiling behind their masks as they arrive on campus and witness our teachers staying after hours refining lesson plans, I am reminded that we are a strong and resilient community, and we can do this!

We are calling on all our creativity and determination to educate middle schoolers in the midst of a pandemic and ever-changing requirements from the state and school district. We are giving it our best, and we are deeply inspired by our students every day. Their willingness to adapt and do what needs to be done to get an education is amazing and I hope you are as proud of them as I am.

As we progress further into the year, we will continue our focus on health and safety in our building, along with delivering a college-prep education for our middle schoolers. As always, we consider our students’ families to be our partners in education and want to remind you to take advantage of all the ways we communicate with parents & guardians: read the weekly progress report about your student, login to ParentSquare to stay updated on what’s going on in the school, check out the Parent Resource webpage, and attend Parent Workshops if you are able.

Our goal is to communicate frequently, clearly, and proactively with the Resolute Academy community. But if there is something you wish to know, or a problem you want help solving, please don’t hesitate to take advantage of our open-door policy and contact me, Principal Gallegos, Counselor Cobb-Dozier, or one of our teachers. We won’t hesitate to hear your concerns and ideas -- and work with you to solve them.

We are more determined than ever to fulfill our mission of equipping students in grades five through eight with the academic foundation and strength of character necessary to excel in selective high schools and colleges. We are surely building our characters through this challenging time and I know we will come out of it stronger, smarter, and better able to survive whatever life throws at us.

Thank you for being part of this amazing community -- let’s have a great year!
