Dear Resolute Academy Families,
Wow! On March 13, 2020, we closed our doors for two weeks. Those two weeks have turned into quite a few months and while the physical distance between us is great, I feel closer than ever to each of you. We have all rallied around the most important people in our lives - our scholars - and have shown them what it means to be tenacious, thoughtful and strong young people. We have created a program that is robust, rigorous and representative of the Resolute we all love.
As you all know, we are very proud to be part of the fabric of the Watts community. To all of us here at Resolute, Watts represents hope, it represents forward thinking and it is a community that shows what it means to be resolute. Over the summer, the Resolute Leadership Team sat down and we talked about what we wanted for our scholars. We talked about the skills we want them to gain and most importantly, what character traits we hope to expand upon before they leave us in the 8th grade. The answer was easy - we want them to be like Watts. From that discussion at the lunch tables in the middle of summer, Resolute's new Core Values materialized. Resolute's Core Values are:
We know what our scholars are capable of achieving and with this new set of values driving the work that we do, we know we can fulfill our mission of providing all students with the academic foundation and strength of character necessary to excel in high school, college and beyond.
The road to college isn’t easy and there will be obstacles, but together we can accomplish anything.
Thank you for being part of the Resolute Family. We’ve resolved to make this the best year yet!
With love and gratitude,
Executive Director, Resolute Academy
